Dental Implants

Dental Implant Restorative Options

Dental Implants are a team effort between an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and a Restorative Dentist. While the surgeon performs the actual implant surgery, and initial tooth extractions and bone grafting if necessary, the restorative dentist (your dentist) fits and makes the permanent prosthesis. Your dentist will also make any temporary prosthesis needed during the implant process.

Every individual deserves to receive care that is tailored to their unique needs. This is best achieved by working as a team with your family dentist before, during, and after your dental implant treatment. You will receive personalized care and attention from your doctor as well as an Treatment Coordinator. Your Treatment Coordinator will be with you throughout the entire treatment process to answer questions you may have and to help achieve desired results.

We recognize that you are a one-of-a-kind individual. With this in mind, dental implant treatment at our office is customized to carefully consider your unique treatment needs and goals. Our doctor is highly skilled and experienced in the practice of dental implant surgery.

Many dental implant super-centers highlight the ease and convenience of coming to them for dental implant treatment because they have everything you need in one place. We very strongly believe that your general dentist is vital to the success of your dental implant treatment. We work very closely with your dentist and his/her staff at all times during your treatment to ensure the best outcome for your individual needs, taking into consideration your health history, treatment goals, and other factors that need to be carefully communicated at all times. Unlike a dental implant supercenter, your general dentist and Dr. Jessen will provide any and all follow-up care for your dental implants once treatment is complete.

To determine if the right option for you is Jessen Oral Surgery of Ogden’s dental implants, you will need to complete a dental exam and full health history with an oral surgeon. At these appointments, your oral surgeon would be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have, to ensure that you have a successful and worry-free procedure.

During your consultations, we would also be happy to go over your insurance coverage and fees for your procedure. While coverage for dental implants varies from policy to policy, we will work with you closely to make sure you get all the benefits you are entitled.

Types of Dental Implant Restorations offered at Jessen Oral Surgery

  • A single prosthesis (crown) is used to replace one missing tooth – each prosthetic tooth attaches to its own implant. (1 tooth)
  • A partial prosthesis (fixed bridge) can replace two or more teeth and may require only two or three implants. (2 or more teeth).
  • A complete dental prosthesis (fixed denture) replaces all the teeth in your upper or lower jaw. The number of implants varies depending upon which type of complete prosthesis (removable or fixed) is recommended. A removable prosthesis (over denture) attaches to a bar or ball in socket attachments, whereas a fixed prosthesis is permanent and removable only by the dentist. (Full Smile Transformation- Smile in a Day).

Dentures held in place by dental implants can free you from the negative effects of conventional dentures, preventing bone loss and freeing you to eat the foods you once loved. Fixed dentures fit comfortably and securely in your mouth, eliminating slippage and embarrassing clicking noises. Your dentures will no longer be obvious to anyone – perhaps even you!

My son had his wisdom teeth removed there yesterday. Dr. Jessen and staff were awesome! They did a really good job of making him feel calm and kept me aware of everything. I would definitely recommend anyone who needs oral surgery to go to Dr. jessen. They’re great!
